Department: News Department

Responsibilities: Intern will assist in researching long and short-term story ideas, as well as assist in building a diverse base of contacts and expert sources. Intern should be a self-starter, with great interest in current events and local government. You will talk with attorneys, celebrities, politicians, and other newsmakers; follow-up on newspaper clippings; and generate future story ideas for our reporters. Requires excellent phone, computer, and communication skills.

Undergraduate (junior/senior standing) or graduate students attending an accredited college or university majoring in Broadcasting/Communications/Journalism or related field of study. Students must be able to obtain college credit for the internship experience (Internships are unpaid).

DURATION/HOURS: Must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week during a 13-18 week period.

FALL (September – December) WINTER/SPRING (January – April) SUMMER (May – August)
