The Chicago Curling Club: Where to play your favorite Winter Olympic sport!
You see it on TV every four years, and you think to yourself, "That looks like a blast."
Lucky for Chicagoans, there's a nearby club where you can learn to be an Olympic curler! Or maybe just good enough to throw the rock down to the other end of the house.
The Chicago Curling Club has been around for more than 60 years. Located in a tucked away building in north suburban Northbrook, the club has everything curling fanatics want. Four regulation curling sheets, equipment, instructors, even video cameras above the target so gallery watchers can see who's winning.
The club was extremely welcoming to me and my WGNTV crew, as we got a quick lesson and found out what people love about the sport. We even spoke with former U.S. Olympian curler Joni Cotten. The story will air on the WGN News at Five, and will be posted here in the gallery shortly after.
If you'd like to join the club, they're located at 555 Dundee Road. You can find more information on their website HERE Check out some photos I snapped with my iPhone. The video will be added soon!
