WGN-TV'S MIDDAY NEWS RASCAL FLATTS/JC PENNEY CONTEST

1. TO ENTER: You must be 21 years of age or older and a legal resident of IL or NW Indiana. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where prohibited or restricted. Contest occurs during WGN Midday News from Monday, July 6, 2009 through Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2pm. Watch WGN Midday News July 6, 2009 through Thursday, July 9, 2009, and when the 'Word of the Day' appears on the screen, make note of the word. Then, log on to www.wgntv.com and complete the official entry form. Entrants must use their own names. Entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned. Sponsors are not responsible for lost, incomplete, damaged, illegible, late, or misdirected entries, or for errors in mechanical/wireless/cellular transmission, technical difficulties or inability to transmit Internet entries. If the 'word of the day' does not appear due to a technical glitch, preempted programming or breaking news, then the previous day's 'word of the day' may be entered in its place. Any entry without the proper 'word of the day' will be disqualified.

2. SELECTION OF WINNER/ODDS: On Friday, July 10, 2009, two Grand Prize Winners will be randomly selected by WGN-TV from all eligible entries. Winners will be notified by e-mail or telephone on or before Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. Winners must respond to notification within forty-eight (48) hours after the notification is sent or that winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be drawn at random from among the remaining eligible entries.

3. PRIZES: Two (2) Grand Prize Winners will be awarded during the Sweepstakes Period. The Grand Prize is a pair of tickets to the July 18 Rascal Flatt's Chicago show at Wrigley Field (valued at $300), VIP meet & greet opportunity, Rascal Flatts CD and concert-T and a $50 JC Penney gift card.

Prize is not redeemable for cash, may not be substituted, and is non-transferable. Winner is responsible for airport taxes, all local ground transportation at point of origin not specifically stated herein, all meals and beverages, gratuities, entertainment and incidental expenses, and all other costs or expenses incurred in connection with redemption of the Prize. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of comparable value if the Prize becomes unavailable for any reason.

4. CONDITIONS & RESTRICTIONS. By entering the Sweepstakes, all entrants acknowledge receipt of and compliance with these Official Rules. Entrants agree Sponsors have the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this Sweepstakes and that their decision is final and binding. Except where prohibited by law, entrants agree to allow use of their name, voice, photograph, likeness and any information provided on entry form, in any medium of communication, including print, Internet, radio and/or television and for any purpose, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, by Sponsors and/or its affiliates, without additional compensation. By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless WGN-TV, Tribune Broadcasting Company, JC Penney, and each of their parent, subsidiary companies, affiliates, divisions, franchisees, representatives, consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers, distributors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment and marketing agencies, and their officers, directors, employees, shareholders and agents, and each of the foregoing entities' employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents (collectively the "Released Parties"), from and against any and all claims, actions and/or liability for any injuries or death, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or entry into the Sweepstakes or acceptance, delivery or use of any prize. The Released Parties are not responsible or liable for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, and assume no responsibility for (i) any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in operation or transmission at any website, or wireless calling/text message carrier service, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections (ii) failure of any entry to be received by Sponsor due to technical problems, telephone service problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or wireless calling/text message carrier service (iii) communications line, hardware and/or software failures, malfunction of phones (including wireless phones/handsets), phone lines, other communications malfunctions, unavailable network connections, cellular equipment towers, telephone systems or wireless service (iv) damage to any computer (software or hardware) resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, or damage to mobile phone or other PDA device (v) theft or destruction of, tampering with, unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries and/or entry information, or (vi) entries which are late, lost, stolen, damaged, illegible, and/or unintelligible (or any combination thereof). Winner will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to receiving the Prize. Failure to execute required affidavits and releases will result in forfeiture of the Prize. Winner assumes all applicable tax liability for their Prize. The Winner will be required to fill out and submit a completed W9 form (available at http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf) prior to receiving the Prize. All requests for the winner's name must be received no later than August 14, 2009.

Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion hereof, or to disqualify any individual implicated in any of the following actions, if for any reason: (a) infection by computer virus, bugs, interruption in wireless calling devices or wireless service, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which, in Sponsors' sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, (b) the Sweepstakes or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper processing of entries per these Official Rules, or (c) the Sweepstakes becomes corrupted due to wireless calling/text message carrier service interruption for any reason (d) the Sweepstakes is otherwise not capable of running as planned. Any entrant who attempts to tamper with this Sweepstakes in any way shall be disqualified. In the event of dispute as to who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question. In the event of dispute as to who submitted a text message entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the owner of the cellular phone from which the text message entry originated.
