The brother of a top Hollywood director is charged with planning an escape from Chicago's federal prison.
Matthew Nolan is the brother of "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan.
He is in federal custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in the South Loop, facing extradition to Costa Rica on murder charges.
Officers found in his cell 31 feet of rope made from bedsheets, a harness, a razor and a metal clip that could unlock handcuffs.
Sources tell the Tribune it is unlikely that Nolan could have escaped and records show no one has ever broken out of the jail .
